ICE AV announces the world’s first larger than life LED screen technology that can be folded, rolled and still retains full video display quality.
Recognising that digital video and displays have become a central focus in every sport, entertainment, communication and business process, ICE AV has identified a unique opportunity to launch a new type of LED display technology that over comes the challenge of out door displays, life size imaging and yet remains easy to setup with two people. With the announcement of the ICE LED Curtain Screen, many of the limitations of the traditional LED Screens are now overcome allowing large life size digital images, to be hung literally from a lighting bar or similar fixture and quickly folded away when not in use.
By taking the concept of being able to roll / fold a screen away and applying a recently perfected patented design technique in LED screen construction, has now enabled an entirely new type of digital video display to be manufactured. ICE AV Technology founder Kevin Andreassend, believes the LED Curtain Screens have the potential to create a new range of applications for digital displays where projection was out of the question and the traditional LED cabinet based screens was beyond the budget for most applications. Each screen folds or rolls away into a standard shipping flight case with the average screen of 5-6m width being easily installed by two technicians. The novel mounting method is to use a 50mm lighting bar that threads through the mounting loops at the top of each screen. The screens are fully operational whether they are folded, laid on the floor or hanging vertical.
The LED Curtain Screens are manufactured in a range of pitch sizes from 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 37.5mm, and up to 100mm. The higher resolution 20mm Pitch screens feature 2500 Dots/per sqm with a weight of 10kg per sqm. Expected life of a screen is 100,000 hours displaying 16.7million colours. Minimum suggested viewing distance is 5m and for outdoor use the screens are rated at IP43. Horizontal viewing angel is a total of 120 degree.
The screens are capable of displaying motion video in the form of TV broadcasts, DVD replay, video cameras, IPTV, high definition video and similar. From computers it is able to display internet sources, computer graphics, text, animation. The 20mm and 25mm screens are more suited for displaying video in good resolution and outdoors the 30mm – 100m resolution screens are more suited for effects, text and similar.
