The premier toys, technology and all things cool, Big Boys Toys 06, has been chosen as the launch event to debut the Simdeck Formula One / A1 styled racing car developed by ICE AV Technology.
Simdeck, the simulation division of ICE AV, developed a true to scale Formula One / A1 racing vehicle that can be either raced in the the virtual world or raced on the road.
Drawing on his child hood experience of cart racing in Timaru's Westend Park and professional background of IT and audio visual technologies, Managing Director Kevin Andreassend gained inspiration from the current A1 Grand Prix. The Simdeck simulation platform uses the revolutionary ICE Digital Daytime screen technology allowing perfect pictures from low end projectors in highly lit environments.
The debut launch Simdeck racing vehicle is a 2.5m long scaled open cockpit vehicle fitted with a petrol engine for road racing and is targeted at the 10 - 15 year old market or small statute drivers. In simulation mode the vehicle is capable of over 300km per hour and enables the driver to actually feel every track knock, bump and vibration. The system has been fitted with 4 chassis transducers that delivers bone shuddering vibration in real time in time with the virtual racing. The steering column has been fitted with force back recreating the feeling of top speed racing.
Simdeck will be launched in the following months to cater for a variety of markets and is already planning a full size vehicle for the child in every adult. The racing platform for the ICE GRAND PRIX is the highly popular Live for Speed online virtual racing programme.
LFS S2 is a serious racing simulator. No arcade modes, no steering aids - YOU have to do the driving. The ICE A1 vehicle is the ideal vehicle and with a Digital Daytime screen, the skills any top driver requires, is bought to the big screen in stunning brightness and sharpness.
The racing can occur in standalone however the real fun is to be found online, in multiplayer mode. Racing against real people is simply the best thing and LFS makes it easy for you to do so. There are also several online racing leagues you can take part in, if you are looking for something with a more competitive edge.
A serious simulator obviously requires a very good physics simulation to provide the thrill and fun of real racing. This is done by simulating all aspects that are important to racing. LFS S2 brings the Simdeck car alive in simulating real racing. Many racing aspects are covered - comprehensive setup possibilities, fuel usage, tyre wear, a lot of different surface types, intriguing racing environments, different car classes, etc. Practice skills learnt at home on LFS will enable drivers to get up to speed once they are in the ICE A1 car . The simulation allows pitstops - find out how much fuel your car uses on a track and how are your tyres behaving on any track, with your driving style. All aspects are considered in real racing and as such they need to be planned for in LFS in the ICE A1 racer.
The Simdeck platform is the ideal high energy application that will demonstrate the remarkable display properties of ICE Digital Daytime and in particular the lens format screen type.
The ICE Digital Daytime screens are the only screen technologies able to exhibit perfect images without needing to resort to high-end projectors or black out curtains to still achieve the perfect large size picture. The ability to achieve the high quality large size projected images is due to the remarkable patented optical properties of the ICE Digital Daytime lens screens.
About ICE AV and Digital Daytime technology.
ICE AV Technology is a specialist AV company that is bringing innovative AV solutions to the Asian and Oceania market and further a field. To-date this has also included a range of Creator Corporation Touch Panel and Controller, Matrix Switcher products that have a 30% penetration into the Chinese market, CONIXE brand HDMI cable products for the emerging High Definition and broadband markets and more recently DDT screen technology which now enables projectors to be used in highly lit and bright ambient environments.
ICE Digital Daytime screen technology is a revolutionary range of screen developments that combines mechanical design, transmissive polymers, surface reflection, light detraction capabilities, alumina material design and molecular excitation.
The DDT screens are designed to be used with any projector from any manufacturer. DDT is seen as the lowest cost large screen display solution that when considering size and quality of image far exceeds any other display technology for use in highly lit environments.
Digital Daytime Screens can outperform Matt White screens and when compared, can deliver a 2000% brighter projected image in highly lit environments. Matt White screens are 1/20th the brightness in high lit environment compared to a Digital Daytime Concave screen with any projector. The full range of physical screen formats consist of Concave, Flat Fixed Frame, Hard Surface, Roller Manual / Motorised and a wide range of specialist “window” and transparent screens in both 4:3, 16:9 and custom formats, the later being touch sensitive capable.
ICE AV is currently in expansion mode as it offer it’s expertise on a global basis in both project and distribution partnerships for companies wanting to achieve a point of difference and to take their existing audio visual business to the next level.
ICE, Digital Daytime, DDT, Interactive Capacitance Emulation, Simdeck and Conixe are proprietary trade marks of ICE AV Technology Ltd.
